The BDA has plan to construct two lakh low-cost houses over the next two years on the land recovered by the state government from encroacheres. Maybe within a week or two the scheme will be launched by the government. The government plans to hand over around 300 acres of the recovered land to BDA for the project. This is good news for economically weaker sections, lower middle class and middle class families, where this people will be identified by BDA for allotment.
There will be options for people to take up housing on rent too and after twenty years the house will be transfered to the tenant for nominal amount.
